Challenge

Problem:

Our client, a Japanese multinational electronic corporation encountered a critical challenge in their production process. The manual soldering of base plates and connecting rods for nearly 13 different semiconductor constructions heavily relied on the operators’ speed and accuracy. However, the company faced a significant obstacle due to a high attrition rate among the operators.

Upon analysis, we uncovered a concerning attrition rate of 12% per month within their workforce of 800 employees. Training new operators on all 13 construction types for soldering semiconductors took approximately two months. Unfortunately, the company had daily production targets and strict shipping deadlines to meet, leaving no margin for delays.
